The Village of Newberry is accepting applications for a full-time Apprentice Lineman/Water Operator position. This is a union position. This position assists the crew as an apprentice and performs semi-skilled and skilled work in the installation, maintenance and operation of overhead and underground electrical system and related facilities. The position also assists in the operation, maintenance and repairs of the water system. After successful completion of the probation period, incumbent will be required to start the lineman training program and continue on the department schedule until reaching the journeyman lineman level. Candidate must complete certification for D-3 and S-3 water licenses and commit to serving the Village of Newberry for two years after reaching full lineman level. Candidate will be required to complete pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing. Required qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent, must have completed an approved electric line worker vocational educational program, or equivalent experience, valid Class B CDL with airbrake endorsements (or ability to obtain in 6 months).
