Village of Newberry Council To Receive Financial Reports
Newberry, MI - The Village Council is holding a special session on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at the Tahquamenon Area Schools auditorium to receive financial reports. Representatives from the Michigan Department of Treasury will be presenting to the Village Council the findings from the 2017 audit. In addition, Brian Camiller a partner for the company Plante Moran will be presenting a 10-year analysis of the financial health of Village finances. The analysis was made possible by a grant from the Michigan Department of Treasury and the information contained in the analysis was obtained from the annual audit reports of 2008-2017.
“The Village Council requested Treasury to conduct the 2017 audit in order to provide an in-depth look at the finances. The 10-year analysis was requested so the Council can make long-term decisions based on the organization’s financial health. We encourage the community to attend,” said John Dewitt, Village President.
